Over 450 fabrics, over 350 accessories
The developers gave these figures themselves shortly before launch, and they are the closest thing to a content count the game has.
Over 450 fabrics
Cotton, linen, wool, silk and velvet are named in the store description; the rest of the shelf is the other 445 or so, including sequined fabrics that reviews single out as a favourite.
Over 350 accessories
Accessories are counted individually by the game — one achievement needs more than 300 placed on a single dress — and they arrive with the same updates that add fabrics.
Over 150 dress pieces
Bodices, sleeves, collars and skirts are mixed and matched in the design book. The developers put the launch figure at over 150 pieces, all made in-house.
Fabrics are shader-driven, not photographic
The team wrote custom shaders so different fabrics read differently: silk and velvet have distinct kinds of sheen, sequins get extra sparkle effects, and the developers describe the look as an artistic expression of a fabric rather than photorealism.
The five confirmed fabrics
These five appear by name in the official Steam description and the Free Lives press kit. Everything else on the shelf is part of the "wide range" the description promises — over 450 fabrics in total, according to the developers.
Cotton
Confirmed in the official description. Real-world character: the everyday workhorse — breathable, easy to sew, forgiving of mistakes. A sensible default for practice pieces and simple commissions.
Linen
Confirmed in the official description. Real-world character: crisp, cool and structured, with a tendency to crease. Reads as summery and relaxed rather than formal.
Wool
Confirmed in the official description. Real-world character: warm, weighty and drapey — the cold-weather staple that holds a silhouette well.
Silk
Confirmed in the official description. Real-world character: lustrous, fluid and slippery to work with — the classic luxury fabric for occasion wear. The game gives it a distinct sheen.
Velvet
Confirmed in the official description. Real-world character: plush, deep and dramatic, with a pile that catches light. The game gives velvet its own kind of shine, different from silk’s.
Real-world character — in-game role unconfirmed
Beyond the five
The store page promises a "wide range" of purchasable fabrics, and the developers later put a number on it: over 450, including sequined fabrics. No official source publishes the full list, per-fabric prices or stats — until one does, every additional fabric and every number is Unconfirmed here. One thing is confirmed: fabrics keep arriving in post-launch updates.
Lace trims and the metre rule
Lace trims are one of the four decoration types the store description names, and they are the only one the game confirms is measured by length.

Measured in metres, not in pieces
The achievement Trim and Proper is earned by using more than 50 metres of trim on a single dress — which only makes sense if the game tracks trim by length. If you are hunting it, edge every hem, sleeve and neckline the garment has.
Trims are a tagged item class
The first patch after launch included "fix some lace trim items not being tagged as such" — so lace trim is a real item category in the code, and for a few days some of it was not counting towards trim totals or trim-based achievements.
Placement is completely free
There is no fixed decoration slot: lace goes exactly where you put it. That freedom is the same one that lets players cover a dress in hundreds of accessories.
How much a trim costs or scores is Unconfirmed
No official source publishes trim prices, style-score values or whether trim length affects a commission’s outcome. The 50-metre achievement is proof of tracking, not of scoring.
Decorations: the confirmed four
The official description names four decoration types and states that placement is completely free — there is no fixed slot grid. Reviews of the finished game add tassels, ribbons and brooches to the list of things you can place.
Buttons
Officially confirmed. Functional or purely decorative closures, placed wherever you like on the garment. The accessory count is per item, which is how an achievement can demand over 300 accessories on one dress.
Bows
Officially confirmed. Soft statement pieces — waist, neckline, hem; the choice is yours, and a bow is a fast way to change a dress’s read.
Appliqué
Officially confirmed. Fabric motifs layered onto the dress; the design book lets you pin appliqué ideas before you commit.
Lace trims
Officially confirmed, and tracked by the metre — the achievement Trim and Proper asks for more than 50m of trim on a single dress.
